i have small eyes and i see people in magazines and stuff with like two shades and it like blends and looks good. but with my small eyes, its hard first of all and it doesnt look right but i love that style. also i could use some color suggestions :D Thanks. How do you make your eyeshadow two colors?
Step 1.Choose eye shadow colors that will compliment and contrast each other. For day time choose a neutral pink, gold or beige for all over your eye lid area. For the second color to be used in your crease area of your eye choose a eye shadow color that is darker. Browns tend to go well with any of the above listed lid colors. Be sure to choose colors that compliment your skin tone as well. Do not choose anything that you would not normally wear. Once you have selected your 2 colors go to step 2.
Step 2.Begin with a cleansed eye area. Do not apply new eye shadow colors to your eyes if they already contain eye shadow. you will not get the right idea of the colors and the overall look.
Step 3.Before you begin you should make sure that you have both eye shadow brushes 1 angled and 1 full for all over color application. Make sure they are free of any previously used colors. Tap against tissue to make sure they are clean.
Step 4.Begin by adding a small amount of your lighter color. The color that you will be applying to your entire eye area. Tap excess on to tissue, now close 1 eye start with your lid , gently sweep eye shadow outwards starting near your nose. Do the lower lid 1st then your upper lid all the way under your eyebrow area. Make sure the coverage of the eye shadow is even and not too thick in any one area. Do the same on the other eye.
Step 5.Applying the 2nd eye shadow color can be done 2 ways. Do each way on separate eyes. What I mean is do option 1 on your left eye and then do option 2 on your right eye. This will allow you to see the difference and decide which looks better for the shape of your eye.
Option 1- On your angled eye shadow brush place a small amount of shadow on the brush. Tap off loose shadow. On your left eye, close eye, sweep shadow into crease of eye from the center (over your pupil) outwards. If the color does not seem very dark add more a little at a time. It is much easier to add eye shadow then it is took take it away. Sweep slightly upwards onto your brow bone. Do not apply directly under brow bone. Leave room for the 1st eye shadow to be the main focus. The 2nd color is only an accent. Even though the shadow is applied to the crease you will still be able to see it. Refer to the photo , the shadow should only extend up to the red line that points to the area labeled underbrow.
Option 2- Again using your angled brush apply a small amount of eye shadow to brush. This time instead of going half way inward(above pupil) cut that area in half. Shorten the area that you are applying the shadow to. Again sweep upward to the same spot . This time apply slightly more shadow to give your eyes a darker look in that area. Depending on the size and shape of your eye option 1 or 2 will suit you. Some eye shapes are suited for both looks. Now touch up base color, apply liner and mascara to complete the look. This will allow you to see exactly how either look will be completed.
Step 6.
Play around with several different color variations. You will easily see that using 2 different eye shadow colors gives your eyes a more complete look then just 1 eye shadow alone. People often use several colors on their eyes. This is not always suited for all of us. Two is personally my limit. I tend to look overdone if I try to apply too much. Have fun, experiment and find the look that suits you. Don't forget to make your eyes match after following these steps....How do you make your eyeshadow two colors?
It takes time and there are tutorials on youtube that could help.
First use brushes instead of the foam applicators if you don't already.
choose 3 colors that compliment each other.
Apply the middle shade to the whole lid up to the brow bone
Then take a ';crease'; brush or a round narrow brush and use the darkest shade in the crease. Start from the outside of the crease and move inward but you don't have to take it all the way to the inner corner. This could make your eyes look smaller.
Then use a fluffy brush and blend those colors together so you don't have sharp edges.
Then take the lightest color and apply it from the crease to the eyebrow and then blend again.
dark mascara will help open your eyes too.
play around with it. It takes practice and not all colors compliment all women.
depending on where you live there are probably some makeup counters in the mall or something. i would go there and have them show you. use small brushes (not the sponges that come with eyeshadow) and try putting a darker color in your crease and a lighter one on your lid. or you can to one color on the inside of your eye and one on the outer corner. color depends on skin tone. shades of brown or natural colors will probably look the best on smaller eyes. and use colors that aren't too different.
for an every day look i just use like a goldish nude color and a light brown color i apply the nude color all over my eyes and the brown color on the crease and at the end of my eyes, then just get a normal (a little bit bigger) brush and blend it in, it looks amazing and natural
Lmfao I love it too.
The best colors are similar.
Like pink and purple.
Or light green and dark green.
Take the dark green eyeshadow from the middle of your eye.
and finish off the rest with the light green.
I have small eyes too, but to achieve two colors you would put the lighter color on the bottom and brighter or darker color on top.
maybe try some eyeliner to make ur eyes POP? if u have small eyes, dont use bright colors.
