so i went home, opened it and tried all the colors on my hand. the eyeshadow barely went on the brush and the color did not come out. i was so frusterated.

is there a was I can make the color appear more...and/or make it more pigmented?

help please';)How do i make eyeshadow more pigmented.?
eye primers intensify the colour of your shadows and help them to last longer, so try using either urban decay primer potion or too faced shadow insurance before you apply your eyeshadow.

also applying shadows wet can make the colour stronger. and make sure you use lots of shadow if it's not coming out well.

generally if you want highly pigmented shadows you're going to have to splurge and get something more high end. however the coastal scents 88 pallet has really pigmented colors and is actually quite affordable. check out www.coastalscents.com

hope this helps you!

edit: i was mucking around with some of my cheaper, less pigmented shadows and some mac mixing medium this morning and realised that using mixing medium helps pigmentation heaps!

what mixing medium is used for is to turn ordinary shadows and pigments into liners, mascaras and liquid eyeshadow. if you mix some with your eyeshadow and apply it like you would when using the shadows wet it works really well- excellent colour pay-off.

you can only buy mac mixing medium from mac pro stores or in small amounts from here:

if there's no mac pro stores near you try using mac fix plus instead, it works quite well as a mixing medium. also enkore make-up on youtube has a tutorial that shows how to make your own mixing medium at home.

I used to have the same problem and what I used to do was put a little water on the end of my brush which worked fine for some colours but made others look like paint (esp the ones with glitter in them since the glitter stays on the brush and only the colour comes out.)

Then I tried a tiny amount of lipgloss (plain, clear) on my eyes and dabbed eyeshadow on with my finger and that works a lot better.

The cool thing about the lip gloss is that if you can control how much you put on then you can make nice v shaped flicks at the end and dab on eyeshadow and it comes out really well!
My daughter SWEARS by putting on a thick coat of black eyeliner first, then using a brush to put on layers of the pigment. And it looks AWESOME!

Another thing to try, she also takes the cheaper eyeshadow and flakes it off with a hairpin, then mixes it with a bit of moisturizer on the back of her hand. When it gets to the vividness you want, apply it to your dry eyelidwith a soft bruch! Her eyes always look so pretty!!!!! I'll look for a pic, then edit it in a link...
Clinique sells a touch tint for eyes for about 12 dollars but it lasts forever. You only need to use a little. Pick a light color so you can use it with any color eyeshadow. Brush this on first with an eyeshadow brush than put your shadow on top. Also a new trick I have just found is brushing the shadow down from top to bottom. Good luck and have fun!
you can use a primer that'll help enhance the color of the eyeshadow.

they sell some at mac, but it cost $16.

you can also try:

coastalscents.com-you can get a sample(1/2 tsp for $2.)so you can try it.

cuberry.com- it's on sale, $9.50 for a 2.5 gram container.

i'm pretty sure you can buy it anywhere

there's no way to do that but department store brands have a higher pigment content and work better sorry about the not working out purchase-if you buy a higher pigment eye shadow kit w/ similar colors you can mix it and still get the cute lay out :)
just put more and more on..?

idk, sounds like you bought some crappy eyeshadow.
